Anxieteam June 2010
In June my band Anxieteam played three gigs in New York. Here’s a little update of how they went.
First we played at Pete’s Candy Store in Brooklyn. During the song Fortune Cookie we handed out cookies with fortunes we’d penned ourselves in them. I took so long handing them out to the audience I didn’t get to sing the last part of the song.
For the Bushwick open studios weekend we played a small gig in the courtyard of the gallery Factory Fresh. During the performance we painted the backdrop and floor. Parts of the painting refers to the songs we played and the banter we had with the audience.
Our final NYC gig for June was at Goodbye Blue Monday. We had been invited to play by Kim, who also joined us for a song during our set. For the last song we encouraged the audience to sing-along with us and provided lyric sheets to help them. We also had a free raffle running through the set, the prize of which was a special Anxieteam CD, the first CD we’ve ever made.

Jon, you are horrendous! I recognized Meg’s finger holding the lyrics sheet and questioned how you managed to take that shot (as in photograph it). I love your “taken w/o permission” disclosure. >__<
