Beermats for Broadway

image

Broadway Cinema have launched their own ale, called Reel Ale, and to celebrate they’ve asked me to design some special beermats.

You can collect one from the bar each week for the next four weeks. They combine to create an insight into my Broadway cinema going experience.

For the last ten years I’ve been a regular at the great independent cinema, in the centre of Nottingham. I can’t even remember all the films I’ve seen there, but notable visits included viewing Cube, Funny Games, Cache, The Blair Witch Project, Rushmore, Pi, Dogville, Shortbus and a documentary about birds. I’ve consumed a fair amount of sweet popcorn, the odd ice-cream and since they’ve officially allowed it, many pints of beer in there.

Love the beer mats are they laminated I wouldn’t want them to get coffee or beer stains and go soggy. Great to hear there are still independent cinemas around. Go see a film have a beer AND get some cool art what could be better!!

hmm. i dont usually drink ale. this is a mean trick to make me drink!

Angel - they probably would get a bit soggy left in their current state and under a Reel Ale..! {I know i’m probaby going to be drinking a few tonight during In The Loop in the hope of nabbing one...}

However, if you’re a local, Broadway’s made sure a framing service is available through our partners Paramount Picture Framing on Heathcote Street if you can keep them clean until then!

I’ll be in to get one of each, except I’ll be doing a charity walk in the first full week in May.  Any chance of saving one behind the bar?

And if anyone fancies sponsoring me please go to http://www.justgiving.com/jonny3peaks.  It’s for a project to provide sustainable supplies of clean, safe drinking water at schools in Kenya where the current water and sanitation services mean kids are often off school with diarrhea and other illnesses.  A well worthy cause smile

I got one on Friday night at the Broadway cafe bar - very cool. Just asked for a pint of Broadway Reel Ale and got one handed to me.

It a proper beer mat and everything.

I WONDER IF SOMEONE WOULD BE SO KIND AS TO SEND ME A SET OF THESE MATS TO ADD TO MY EXTENSIVE COLLECTION (CIRCA 24K, UK BREWERY MATS).
I WILL GLADLY OFFER A COPY OF MY BOOK “A GUIDE TO COLLECTING BEER MATS” (RETAILS AT £16.99) IN RETURN FOR A SET.
