The cardboard policeman's hat was a by-product of a crazy event, known as Total Ghaos, coordinated by the art group Reactor in 2005. To celebrate the end of the project a spontaneous, hedonistic party broke out and most of the costumes and equipment were destroyed. The hat was salvaged from the rubble and brought home as a souvenir. It was then snaffled by a curious Mr. Burgerman and transformed into the now infamous 'stupid hats'. I took great glee, not only in crafting the hat in the first place, but in forming this mini-collaboration with the king of doodle and in modelling the final product for the photo in the book.
