Pictoplasma On Tour
June 8th 2005 saw the opening of a walkthrough colouring book experience as part of Pictoplasma on Tour in Dusseldorf, Germany.
This is the NRW-Forum in the centre of Dusseldorf, where the exhibition along with the Characters At War piece was held. They make good apple cake and cappuccinos here too.
Direct from the airport and straight into the doodling, Pictoplasma sure worked us hard.
The idea was to cover the walls of the gallery with black outlined drawings which the public could then colour in during the exhibition.
With the three walls, a table and a ladder finally covered after two and a half days of solid(ish) work it was ready.
Armed with markers they came and began to colour…
...and scribble,
slowly turning things orange and blue.
As the exhibition continues more and more of the wall will be filled in. New photos will be added here showing its progress from time to time.
Big thanks to Peter and Lars at Pictoplasma for inviting me to be a part of it all and to I Like Drawing and Dennis Tyfus for being so cool to doodle with.
